How Do I Contact You?

We admit it, we're very hard to get ahold of since we are usually working outside and the farm has VERY limited internet and NO cell service.

You're always welcome to call and leave a message on our home line before 8pm at 859.Yum.Dirt (986.3478), but the best way to catch us (usually) is via email at Jessa@HomeGrownHideAways.org or send us message through our facebook page!

Where Are You?

HomeGrown HideAways is located at 500 Floyd Branch Road in the beautiful Red Lick Valley,  approximately 12  miles east of Berea, 20 miles south of Richmond, 45 miles south Lexington, and 145 miles north of Knoxville. If you're worried your GPS may lead you astray, use the directions on this page.

From  the  North

I-75 South to exit 83 (Duncannon Lane). From the ramp, turn LEFT onto Duncannon Lane. Stay on Duncannon for about 4 miles until it ends at the Army Depot. Turn RIGHT onto US 25/421 South. At the 25/421 split, fork RIGHT to stay on US 421 South, headed towards McKee for about 10 miles (DO NOT veer right onto HWY 1016 - KEEP LEFT at the fork). Turn LEFT onto Red Lick Rd (HWY 594) and follow  for 3.5 miles to Floyd Branch Road. Floyd Branch is the FIRST RIGHT after the vacant gas station. We are on the right 1.5 miles down Floyd Branch.

From the  South

I-75 North to  exit 76 (KY 21). From the ramp, turn RIGHT onto KY 21 (Chestnut Street). Go about 1.5 miles to College Square and VEER RIGHT at the stop light to stay on KY 21. When you cross the intersection between Boone Tavern Hotel and Union Church, KY 21 becomes Prospect Street. Stay on Prospect/KY 21 for  about 5 miles until it ends at 421/Big Hill Road. Turn LEFT onto 421 North and drive about 1.2 miles to Red Lick Road (HWY 594). Turn RIGHT onto Red Lick Road (HWY 594) and follow for 3.5 miles to Floyd Branch Road. Floyd Branch is the FIRST RIGHT after the vacant gas station. We are on the right 1.5 miles down Floyd Branch.

What Should I Bring?

We are a farm in the mountains so be prepared to encounter INSECTS (mosquitoes, ticks, no-see-ums), WILDLIFE (deer, turkey, snakes, toads, and dare we mention the  bear track we spotted one spring?), WEATHER (hot, cold, rain, snow), TOXIC PLANTS (poison ivy, stinging nettle, wild mushrooms), just to name a few. Appropriate clothing, footwear, bug repellent, medications, and first aid kits are highly recommended. You will also want to bring CASH for the farm store. We have firewood bundles, s'more kits, HomeGrown farm food, drinks, and snacks. We also have our BOOZE license and carry a small selection of LOCAL beer, wine, and ready-to-drink canned cocktails.

We DO NOT have internet or cell service, though we do have a landline for emergency use (trust us, your "people" aren't out here). The Community Farmhouse has VERY LIMITED internet. The network and password are posted inside, but we DO NOT GUARANTEE that it will work. It will definitely be slow (about 3 mbps).

We also DO NOT have trash service. We have recycling bins set up for plastic, cans, paper, and compost for your food waste (NO GLASS), but plan to take your trash with you when you leave and follow the Leave No Trace Principles of Outdoor Ethics We will have extra bags for those that forget.

Why Can't I Bring My Pet?

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET/ESA! We can't stress this one enough.

HomeGrown HideAways is a private, residential farm which means that we live here full-time with our own pets and livestock. Having other people's animals on the farm creates additional stress for the creatures that reside here and we cannot guarantee the safety or your beloved family member. Additionally, our insurance does not cover any incidents involving other people's animals so you would be personally responsible for any accidents caused by the presence of your animal. We are happy to recommend local boarding facilities if you don't have a pet-sitter at home.
